SOGGY SUNDAY!!!
I promise…Spring IS coming!!! We will all be engulfed with warm sunbeams, colorful life exploding everywhere, & the renewed energy that comes with the change of the season! Boy! I can’t WAIT!
This week’s “W.O.W.” (word of the week) is SUCK IT UP! Ok, so maybe it’s a phrase…but nonetheless, embrace it! I chose these words to keep us all focused this week after my 13th annual “experience” with the Old Town BEERUN-5 mile race today. The weather was horrible. It was cold, raining sideways most of the day, and overall the perfect day to stay in your “jammies” and have a movie marathon on the couch! My mind was NOT in the game today, and based on the turn out there were quite a few others in the same boat. I looked for any excuse possible to get out of the race today, but in the end I decided that today was a day that I just had to SUCK IT UP! Show up, get it over with, and move on. Funny thing happened though. As I stood waiting for the starting gun to fire, I looked around at all of the other folks in the same boat I was, & I realized that we ALL had a choice today. We didn’t HAVE to be there. Every person there today SUCKED IT UP! Turns out that both me & my husband ran PR’s, despite the odds & mindsets we showed up with. If we had not SUCKED IT UP, we would have never known what we could have achieved today.
Look, I know that you face obstacles every day that will disrupt your good intentions. This week I CHALLENGE you to SUCK IT UP & do whatever is necessary to stay on task! Get your workouts in, be good to your body with nutrition, tell yourself “I CAN” when you might really be thinking something different. You can’t win the game if you don’t show up to play. Even if you don’t “win”, something is always better than nothing…and you still come out a step ahead.
CLASS UPDATE: WHO’S COMING TOMORROW? There’s a 6am, 9:30am, & 6pm Functional Fitness-and I’m looking forward to starting the week STRONG with whoever is going to be there.
BIG COGRATS to anyone reading this email that ran the BEERUN today! Way to SUCK IT UP & CRUSH it today! WooHoo!
p.s. your Dailey thought…
“Nothing lasts forever. So live it up, drink it down, laugh it out, avoid the BS, take chances, and never have regrets. The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow. For every challenge encountered there is opportunity for growth.” ~Kemmy Nola
